1. Bandages of different widths should be adopted according to different parts. Generally, small elastic bandages (7.5 X450cm wide) are used for upper limbs, and medium elastic bandages (10 X450cm wide) are used for lower knees, large elastic bandage (width 15*450cm) is used on the knee; The binding method depends on the purpose of use. Elastic bandage used to support circulation should support the vein, offset the increased venous pressure, and not limit the venous return or arterial blood supply due to excessive pressure.
2. Elastic bandage must be smooth and wrinkle-free after wrapping, especially at joints. For example, after the knee joint is moved, the bandage tends to wrinkle, which makes the popliteal socket compressed, such as the same tourniquet. The tightness of the winding should also be appropriate, and the degree of self-comfort after dressing should be taken as the degree. Bandage elastic bandage should be carried out before getting up every morning. If the patient has already got up, the patient should be put back to bed, raise the limbs, empty the venous blood, and then bandage.
3. Dressing should start from the foot, gradually twine upward, and bind to the required height. During the bandaging process, the two adjacent elastic bandages should overlap about 2/3, otherwise it is not easy to be smooth after bandaging and removed before falling asleep every night.
4. During the use of elastic bandage, observe the color of limb skin and swelling of affected limb every day in order to observe its effect. Patients with non-surgical treatment of lower limb varicosis should insist on using elastic bandage every day for a long time; Patients with deep vein thrombosis must use elastic bandage no matter during the restricted activity period or after starting the activity, for at least 3 months, it is even used for life to protect the function of superficial vein and communicating vein valves and reduce or eliminate symptoms.
Elastic bandage is a special bandage with elasticity, which can prevent and eliminate edema and lower limb varicosity.
