Gauze bandages, as a simple wound dressing material, are of great significance in the medical industry, especially in surgical procedures. Made of gauze, they are highly elastic and resilient, and are used to secure the bandage by wrapping and tying. Bandaging requires skill and should not be done carelessly, as this can be detrimental to the wound. The following techniques are provided.
1. Maintain proper patient positioning.
2. Place the affected limb in an appropriate position to ensure comfort and minimize pain during the bandaging process.
3. Bandage the affected limb in a functional position.
4. The bandage provider usually stands in front of the patient to observe their facial expressions.
5. Bandages should generally be applied from the inside out, from the distal end toward the torso. Initially, two circular bandages should be applied to secure the bandage.
6. Hold the bandage roll securely during bandaging to prevent it from falling. The bandage roll should be placed flat against the bandaged area. 7. When bandaging, apply even pressure. Do not apply too lightly to prevent it from falling off, nor too tightly to prevent circulatory disturbances.
8. Except for patients with acute bleeding, open wounds, or fractures, the area must be clean and dry before bandaging.
9. Remove rings, gold bracelets, and watch necklaces before bandaging. Our company manufactures a full range of gauze bandages, and the mesh size required for different wounds is also specific. The right bandage significantly aids the patient's recovery, is economical, and simplifies nursing care.
