Medical bandages are generally classified into five types: simple bandages, non-elastic or elastic bandages, light support bandages, stress bandages, and orthopedic bandages.
1. Simple bandages are made of cotton, viscose rayon, and polyamide fibers, and are typically manufactured using weaving and knitting methods.
2. Non-elastic/elastic bandages are made of elastic yarn, and their manufacturing method differs from other bandages; they are not woven.
3. Light support bandages are made of cotton, viscose rayon, and elastic yarn, and are manufactured using knitting and weaving methods.
4. Stress bandages are made of cotton, polyamide fibers, and elastic yarn, and are also manufactured using weaving or knitting methods.
5. The last type, orthopedic bandages, is the most complex. They are made of cotton, viscose rayon, polyamide fibers, polypropylene fibers, and polyurethane foam, and their manufacturing method combines all the above methods, including knitting, woven, and non-woven fabrics.
The above five types are some of the more common types of medical bandages we use daily. Patients should choose the appropriate medical bandage for their treatment based on their specific circumstances.
