A trauma bandage is a type of bandage designed to provide pressure and support for a wound. Shoulder injuries require careful dressing as the shoulder area is a commonly used area and is more prone to recurrent injuries. Below is a list of some trauma bandage shoulder dressing methods.
1. Upper arm encircling method: First, place a bandage section about 10 centimeters wide behind the injured person's neck and tie it around the chest. Then, wrap another bandage of the same length around the upper arm of the injured side along the lower edge of the shoulder strap, wrap it around the bandage on the neck, and then wrap it back around the upper arm along the upper edge of the shoulder strap. Repeat this step until the appropriate tightness is achieved.
2. Upper arm chest crossing method: Wrap the bandage around the top of the shoulder and leave one end behind. Then wrap the other end from the top of the injured shoulder to the other side of the chest, cross it in front of the chest, and then loop back over the injured shoulder. At this point, the shoulders will be lifted to achieve support and stability.
3. X-shaped wrapping method: Wrap the bandage around the back, then lean forward along the top of the shoulder to wrap around the injured shoulder, and then wrap around the neck to reach the healthy shoulder. Next, using the same method, apply the bandage diagonally from the healthy shoulder to the injured back, completing an X-shaped wrap. This not only protects the injured area, but also supports the shoulders to reduce weight and pressure on the back.
4. Tubular winding method: Fold the bandage in half, fix a round wooden rod with a radius of approximately 2 centimeters between them, tightly wrap it around the patient's chest and injured area, and fix it on the shoulder. This dressing method can make the shoulder and injured area tightly fit, increasing support.
The purpose of the shoulder bandage method is to support and protect the injured area of the patient. In addition, we should follow the correct dressing method, pay attention to the tension and pressure of the bandage, and ensure that it does not cause further damage.
