Russia has finalized its own set of proposals in response to the United States' 27-point plan for resolving the Ukraine crisis and is ready to submit them at the next round of talks, a senior Russian diplomat announced.
Alexey Polishchuk, Director of the Second Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Department at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the development on May 24, 2026 (local time). He declined to disclose the specific content of Russia's counterproposals.
Polishchuk noted that following two rounds of trilateral negotiations in Abu Dhabi and Geneva, Russian experts drafted the proposals based on the outcomes of those discussions, specifically tailored to the U.S. 27-point framework.
Since the start of 2026, delegations from Russia, Ukraine, and the United States have held three rounds of trilateral talks. The most recent session took place in Geneva on February 17–18, 2026. Russia previously announced that the trilateral negotiations had been suspended due to tensions in the Middle East.
