North Korean leader Kim Jong UN sent a congratulatory message to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 78th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War in Russia, the Korean Central News Agency reported Tuesday.
"On behalf of the government and people of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, I would like to extend warm congratulations to you and the friendly government and people of Russia on the far-reaching day of the glorious victory of the Russian people in the great Fatherland War," Kim said in his message, according to the report.
"I am confident that under your leadership, the resolute and just Russian people will achieve continuous success in the journey of crushing all kinds of provocations and threats by hostile forces, safeguarding national sovereignty and dignity, and ensuring regional stability," Kim added to Putin. On this occasion, I once again extend my warm fighting greetings to you and the Russian army and people who have boldly risen up and engaged in the sacred struggle against the might and tyranny of the imperialists, to achieve international justice and maintain world peace."
According to KCNA, Kim also sent a congratulatory message to Putin on May 9 last year.
