After proposing to "empty Gaza," US President Donald Trump threatened to "take over" Gaza and said that Palestinians living there should be relocated to other countries. According to CNN (CNN) on the 11th, in an interview with the media at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Thursday (6th), French President Emmanuel Macron called for respect for the Palestinians and their Arab neighbors, and rejected Trump's proposal to move Palestinians from their homes.

"You can't say to 2 million [Palestinians in the Gaza Strip], 'You know what? You're moving out '." "The right solution is not real estate action, but political action," Macron said.

"I have been reiterating my differences with Prime Minister Netanyahu." Macron also said that "such large-scale operations, sometimes even against civilians, I do not think are the right solution."

Mr Macron said any "efficient" response to rebuilding Gaza "does not mean that you should lack respect for its people or its state". Macron stressed the Palestinians' desire to remain in their homeland and the refusal of Jordan and Egypt to take in large numbers of refugees from Gaza.

On February 4, Trump said he wanted the United States to "take over" and "own" the Gaza Strip for a long time, and that Palestinians currently living in the Gaza Strip should be relocated to other countries such as Jordan and Egypt. Trump also said he did not rule out the deployment of US troops to the Gaza Strip. The international community condemned the statement as a violation of international law and "unacceptable."

On February 5, Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abdelaty and visiting Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohamed Mustafa held talks in Cairo, and the two sides stressed the need to promote the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip on the premise that Palestinians do not leave the Gaza Strip. On February 11, King Abdullah II of Jordan, who is on a visit to the United States, said at the White House that Jordan could immediately take in sick Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip. On the same day, he reiterated Jordan's opposition to the expulsion of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

In addition, according to AFP and other media reports, Macron's relationship with Netanyahu has been strained. In October, Macron called on countries to stop supplying Israel with weapons used to fight in the Gaza Strip, prompting Netanyahu to call it "shameful." In the same month, Macron told a cabinet meeting that Netanyahu should not forget that his country was founded under a UN resolution, urging Israel to abide by UN resolutions. Responding to Macron's comments, Netanyahu said in a statement later in the day that Israel was created in the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, not through UN resolutions.
